PERSONAL PROFILE AND BACKGROUND

In the early years I get hooked up with one of the most dynamic rock band as a drummer in my small home town. We cemented our reputation as a hard rock band consisting of fluid and very articulate players. As a drummer I started off by using a Rogers drum set which I love pounding passionately to the sound of heavy drumming suited for heavy hard rock songs. 

It wasn’t until early eighties when we decided to split due to the death of our bass guitarist after which we all went our separate ways to pursue our own interest and career. Immediately after that I went back to school abroad enlisting myself for an Engineering Degree course at the University of Plymouth in the UK. It was there that I was inspired to pick up a guitar and started playing guitar after watching Joe Satriani "live" in concert at Apollo Theatre in Manchester. 

I bought my first PRS electric guitar and started playing with other guitarists, Justin and Andy, a good friend of mine. The three of us spent a lot of our free times together playing guitar sharing and learning from each other the guitar riffs and techniques in my small apartment in the UK. Sadly, after graduation I came back to Brunei and since then I totally lost contact with these dear friend of mine who share the same passion in music and interest in playing guitar......God bless them all. 

Back here in Brunei, I continue to build on the legacy by involving in the local music scene delivering high-profile mentoring to the younger musicians also performing as guest spots on some live gigs and shows. As a guitarist I do not wish to be influenced by any of my Guitar Idols in terms of my playing but to develop my own methods, skills and technique unique to my own style of playing in order to stand out from other players.

Now I play both guitar and drum continuously developing and enhancing my skills practicing and playing at the comfort of my own music studio at home. Professionally, I am an electrical engineer, self employed, running my own business in engineering consultancy services together with my partner.

MY PROFILE AS A MUSICIAN, INSTRUMENT & GEARS

Present Skill: Playing both Guitar and drum and thinking of venturing out into playing keyboard.

Guitar: Currently I am using my most favorite guitar PRS. Occasionally I am also using Gibson and Fender and Takamine for acoustic guitar.

Guitar Amplifier: I am using Carvin, Legacy amp (Steve Vai Signature Series) and Marshall (JCM900).

Guitar Processing Unit: I am using Digitech 2120 (Artist Series) but most of the time getting the sound direct from amplifiers.

Drum: My drum set is a 14piece DW drum set.

Home Studio Sound Reinforcement: 24 Channel Mackie Mixing Console, Speakers powered by 3000 W QSC amps and processing Units using Lexicon etc.

Type of Music Preference: Progressive and hard rocK
